About Me:A graduate of the Crawford College of Art, Cork,
I now live and work from my little terraced cottage in Myrtleville. My weekly watercolour classes are small and friendly - partly because the size of my room necessitates it and partly because I like the idea of an art class being a place to relax and chat as well as to create and learn. Watercolour is my medium of choice - you can't always control it, but I do like the element of surprise when something goes especially well. I love when a potential painting appears in front of me when I'm out and about... it could be just a shaft of sunlight creating amazing shadows down a cottage wall, or it could be a little child jumping for joy at the end of a crashing wave on the sea shore. I take lots of photos and sort out what may work in terms of composition etc. when I get home - the watercolour adds the magic. |
