A graduate of the Crawford School of Art in Cork, I have been teaching art to children and adults in my locality for many years, while also finding time to paint mainly private commissions. In more recent times I have been exhibiting and selling in annual group shows together with my students.

Painting mainly in watercolour, I draw my inspiration from the beautiful scenery, characters, old buildings, boats and half-hidden treasures that surround me. A walk along the beach may reveal a stranded starfish after a storm, or a couple of children engrossed in a rock pool on a sunny summer’s day. Looking through a gap in the hedgerow might give me a view of an alert pony, or a group of curious cows – all these glimpses of everyday life in the countryside around Crosshaven provide plenty of reasons for me to get out my paintbrush.

My first solo exhibition is planned for September 2007
